I Have Found a Thin Place
Where cultivated and wild collapse in to one.
Sloping Fields’ transformation in to woodland has begun. Grazing stopped in autumn 2023 and after a winter of rest and hibernation for the flora and fauna, spring has given birth to a rich diversity of plant life, which is now showing itself for the first time in decades. It could be at least 40 years since the land was allowed to express its full potential without grazing animals and I am finding the transformation quite startling and profound.
